DAVID CONRAD POOL Mr. David Conrad Pool, 79, of Wilton, CT. husband of Nancy Anderson Pool passed away May 10th at home in the company of his family. Mr. Pool was born July 20, 1934 in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey son of the late William A. and Louise (Mergler) Pool and has been a resident of Wilton for the past 46 years. He received his undergraduate degree in Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Mr. Pool earned a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a second master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University. Prior to retiring Mr. Pool owned and operated Pool and Associates Engineer Consulting firm in Wilton. Mr. Pool is a former deacon and longtime member of the Saugatuck Congregational Church in Westport. A model railroad enthusiast, Mr. Pool is a member of the National “S” Gaugers and the Connecticut “S” Gaugers. He is also a member of the National Train Collectors Association and an editor of the Branch Lines Column in Dispatch Magazine. He enjoyed sailing and spending time along the shorelines of New Jersey and Connecticut. Survivors in addition to his wife includes two daughters, Suzanne Tobin and her husband William of Middletown, CT. Meredith Burnett and her husband Robert Jr. of Oxford, PA. five grandchildren, Ryan and Liam Tobin and Bridget, Heather and Colleen Burnett. Mr. Pool was also predeceased by his first wife Barbara Henderson Pool. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM meeting directly at the Wilton Congregational Church, 70 Ridgefield Road, Wilton, CT. 06897. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Wilton, CT. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Pool may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Ave. Norwalk, CT 06854.
